Mister and I were fortunate enough to be invited to a CD release party this week. The party was really a dinner, and it went down at Lawry’s The Prime Rib.

If you’ve not heard of Lawry’s, check your spice cabinet. Perhaps you have a canister of Lawry’s Seasoning Salt hiding in there. Or Seasoning Pepper. Or maybe you’ve heard of the Beef Bowl – a gi-normous dinner served to Rose Bowl participant players each year. (I understand this decades-old tradition has now spread to the Dallas location for Cotton Bowl participant players as well.) The local Beef Bowl dinner is a yearly news story here in L.A., and it always looks like those college football players are putting away some meat!

Anyhoo, Mister and I headed over for the celebratory dinner and it could not have been more fun. Not only was the food a carnivore’s dream, but the company was amazing! Seriously – we couldn’t stop talking about how awesome the other attendees were, all the way home.

Speaking of all the way home, I was mighty glad to have worn pants with a little give in the waist, as I was totally stuffed to the gills. I mean it. Dinner was more than enough, but then I just had to go and sample Mister’s Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert. Dag!

If you eat meat and you ever get a chance to dine at a Lawry’s The Prime Rib, I strongly suggest you give it a try. Those folks know a thing or two about preparing cow-meat. You’re welcome.

  1. I love Lawry’s, its a real special occassion treat and great for out-of-towners. Recently I discovered that the Tam O’Shanter in Los Feliz is owned by Lawry’s and it’s much easier to get into and gives you that Lawry’s feel in a much more casual setting — but, they don’t have those great Lawry’s silver serving carts. thanks for posting Mikki, looks like you two had a blast! as per usual!

    1. We did have a blast! Thanks for the Tam O’Shanter reminder. Mister’s never been there. (Wha???) And I haven’t been in ages. Maybe we could meet you for some meat…
