I dig architecture. I know nothing about it, mind you. But I sure do like it.
When I find myself in a metropolitan area, I tend to look up. The lines, the angles, they just grab hold of me. If I’ve got a camera on me, I try to capture what I see. There are no guarantees, so when I get lucky and actually score a good photo, I’m super-jazzed. That’s what happened one summer in Seattle.
I painted this based on that photo. The light, the reflections, they were all there in the photo. They were all there that day in Seattle, too. It was a good day. It made a good painting.
Looking at this now, I think I need to spend a little more time with a camera in my hand. Looking up…
