For a few years now, we’ve had some old theater seats. I’ve always intended to refinish the danged thangs, but life – you know? So they’ve sat, ignored.

For the record, I didn’t dislike the way the seats looked. Their age and patina were fine. But cracks in the wood meant splinters in the ass for anyone who actually used the seats. And as I’m not too keen on snagging my clothes (or butt), I needed to work on them, if only for my benefit. Last week I decided it was time…

They turned out great. I really could not be happier with the results. And it just goes to show – marred, damaged things are not without beauty. These theater seats are proof of that. Their aged, broken bits are lovely to behold. Hallelujah.
